Join Our Team as a Bilingual COTA – Outpatient Neuro, Industrial Rehab, and Hand Therapy Focus
Are you a passionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) seeking a dynamic and supportive environment to grow your clinical skills? We are looking for a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) COTA to join our cohesive outpatient therapy team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse caseload in work hardening/conditioning, hand therapy, and neuro-rehabilitation.
You’ll work directly under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, collaborating closely with our physical therapy team and interdisciplinary rehab staff. Ideal candidates will bring at least one year of experience—or be a fast-learning, enthusiastic clinician with a background in exercise science or kinesiology. A background or interest in hand therapy is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- Work Hardening: Assist in a structured outpatient program supporting injured workers as they rebuild strength, stamina, and functional tolerance to return to job duties.
- Hand Therapy: Support treatment plans for a variety of upper extremity conditions including orthopedic injuries and post-surgical care.
- Neuro Rehab: Contribute to interventions focused on cognitive, sensory, and vestibular-based recovery for individuals with post-concussive or neurological conditions.
General Responsibilities:
- Carry out individualized treatment plans designed by supervising OTs
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and ADL training
- Document daily progress and clinical observations
- Educate patients on home programs and adaptive strategies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-centered treatment space
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support functional outcomes
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Valid Maryland COTA license (or eligibility to obtain)
Preferred:
- 1+ years of COTA experience
- Background in exercise science or kinesiology
- Prior exposure to outpatient neuro, industrial rehab, and/or hand therapy
