Join Our Team as an Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Hand Therapy & Industrial Rehabilitation
Are you an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) seeking a dynamic outpatient setting where you can make a tangible impact on your patients’ lives? Metropolitan Occupational Therapy in Silver Spring, MD, is looking for a motivated and compassionate clinician to join our interdisciplinary rehab team.
This position primarily focuses on hand therapy, upper extremity rehabilitation, and industrial/work injury programs, with opportunities to cross-train in vestibular and concussion/CTE rehabilitation within a workers’ compensation and personal injury–based practice.
New graduates with a strong background in biomechanics or upper extremity rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
Hand Therapy: Evaluate and treat post-operative, acute, and cumulative trauma injuries of the upper extremity using evidence-based approaches.
Industrial Rehab: Support clients through structured work hardening and work conditioning programs to restore functional strength, endurance, and safe return-to-work capacity.
Functional Rehab: Participate in vestibular, concussion, and neurorehabilitation programming as part of a whole-body, occupation-centered recovery model.
Collaborate closely with a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), physical therapy colleagues, and occupational therapy assistants in a team-driven, patient-centered environment.
Develop individualized plans of care, communicate effectively with physicians and case managers, and track measurable progress toward return-to-occupation goals.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid Maryland OT license (or eligibility to obtain)
Strong interest in orthopedic, hand, and industrial rehabilitation
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred:
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or pursuing credential
Bilingual (Spanish-speaking)
1+ year of outpatient or industrial rehab experience
Prior coursework or experience in biomechanics, kinesiology, or upper extremity orthopedics
Interest or experience in vestibular/concussion management

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000 – $130,000 per year
