The Department of Health, Sport, and Human Physiology at the University of Iowa invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, instructional track faculty appointment to begin in August 2026 renewable for a total of three years (2026-2029), and renewable in one-, two-, or three-year increments thereafter. Applicants will be considered at the levels of Assistant Professor of Instruction, Associate Professor of Instruction, or Professor of instruction; rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Applications are sought from candidates with a demonstrated potential for excellent teaching in the areas of health coaching, health communication, community wellness, and lifestyle medicine. Duties of this position include in-person teaching (80%) and service (20%).

Requirements
Education Requirement:
Master’s degree (or higher) in health promotion, health education, health communication, public health, or related field conferred by the start date.
Required Qualifications:
Health coaching certification from the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching in hand by the start date.
Excellent communication skills, as demonstrated in the application materials
Evidence suggesting the ability to teach effectively at the university level.
Desirable Qualifications:
PhD in health promotion, health education, health communication, kinesiology, public health, or related field conferred by the start date.
Experience instructing within a health coaching training program.
