D.C. Everest School District is seeking an educational leader possessing superior skills in resource management, long-range planning, and operational excellence to join our team as Assistant Superintendent of Operations.

The start date of this position is July 1, 2024.

  • Partner with the Superintendent and other district leaders to lead ongoing improvement efforts to support our School Board’s expectation of D.C. Everest being a great place to learn, great place to work, and a great community.
  • Facilitate development of the district’s long-range financial planning and annual budgets with an eye for maximizing resources to positively impact student learning and well-being.
  • Lead district finance team to maintain transparency, compliance, and precision to ensure effective external reporting expectations/standards, public understanding, and informed decision-making.
  • Lead operations leaders (Buildings & Grounds, School Nutrition, Greenheck Turner Community Center, Talent & Culture, Technology) in their efforts to make priority, future-forward decisions rooted in maximizing impact and creating efficiencies for those we serve.
  • Secure and administer contracts with outside agencies and vendors in alignment with district processes and policy.
  • Apply both creativity and common sense in contributing to our team’s effort to remove barriers and be solution-oriented in all aspects of our work.

  • Be a human-centered, collaborative, innovative leader.
  • Demonstrate a strong working understanding of Wisconsin public school finance and strategies to maximize impact on student learning.
  • Possess strong communication skills: provide clarity and be open to feedback from a range of stakeholders.
  • Skill in establishing priorities, assessing risk, leading critical analysis, and positioning an organization to be future-ready.
  • Lead leaders: develop and support effective teams, make meaning of complex information, collaborate effectively to motivate, and bring about change that betters the organization.
  • Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a School Business Administrator (#5008) and/or as a Superintendent-District Administrator (#5003).
  • Master’s degree in School Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Three years of successful experience in school administration or a related area of business management.

  • A competitive salary commensurate on experience, comprehensive benefits package, and generous paid time off and vacation.

  • Our central Wisconsin community is surrounded by countless outdoor opportunities for all seasons — with abundant lakes, rivers, bike trails, camping, hiking, skiing/snowboarding/cross country skiing, snowmobiling, boating, fishing, and more.
  • When the weather is disagreeable, our new Greenheck Turner Community Center offers a 135,000 square foot turf field, walking lanes, sports simulators, childcare programs, ice rink, climbing walls, workout facility, racquetball courts, and meeting spaces for community use.
  • Our community has a vibrant arts/performing arts culture and is home to the Grand Theater and Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
  • If you enjoy culinary arts, our local restaurants showcase global menus that reflect the diversity of our community, and our local breweries highlight the creativity of our local brew masters.
  • The new Greater Wausau Children’s Museum, shopping boutiques, and year-round community festivals draw visitors from across the state.
  • When you feel like venturing farther afield, you can travel to Green Bay, Madison, Minocqua, Bayfield, Minneapolis, and Chicago in just a few hours’ time and our Central Wisconsin Airport provides easy access to destinations across the U.S.
