D.C. Everest School District is seeking an educational leader possessing superior skills in resource management, long-range planning, and operational excellence to join our team as Assistant Superintendent of Operations.
The start date of this position is July 1, 2024.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Partner with the Superintendent and other district leaders to lead ongoing improvement efforts to support our School Board’s expectation of D.C. Everest being a great place to learn, great place to work, and a great community.
- Facilitate development of the district’s long-range financial planning and annual budgets with an eye for maximizing resources to positively impact student learning and well-being.
- Lead district finance team to maintain transparency, compliance, and precision to ensure effective external reporting expectations/standards, public understanding, and informed decision-making.
- Lead operations leaders (Buildings & Grounds, School Nutrition, Greenheck Turner Community Center, Talent & Culture, Technology) in their efforts to make priority, future-forward decisions rooted in maximizing impact and creating efficiencies for those we serve.
- Secure and administer contracts with outside agencies and vendors in alignment with district processes and policy.
- Apply both creativity and common sense in contributing to our team’s effort to remove barriers and be solution-oriented in all aspects of our work.
WHAT IT TAKES:

- Demonstrate a strong working understanding of Wisconsin public school finance and strategies to maximize impact on student learning.
- Possess strong communication skills: provide clarity and be open to feedback from a range of stakeholders.
- Skill in establishing priorities, assessing risk, leading critical analysis, and positioning an organization to be future-ready.
- Lead leaders: develop and support effective teams, make meaning of complex information, collaborate effectively to motivate, and bring about change that betters the organization.
- Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a School Business Administrator (#5008) and/or as a Superintendent-District Administrator (#5003).
- Master’s degree in School Business Administration or equivalent.
- Three years of successful experience in school administration or a related area of business management.
