Founded in 1846, Grinnell College (www.grinnell.edu/) is a highly selective residential liberal arts college that enrolls 1500 students who come from every state and 50 countries around the world. The College's primary mission is to provide students with a broad, deep, and life-enhancing education. Recently, the College completed a comprehensive strategic plan (http://www.grinnell.edu/offices/institutionalplanning/strategicplanning/). Grinnell College has been named one of the 20 best liberal arts colleges in the country for the past fifteen years by U.S. News & World Report. Capitalizing on a student/faculty ratio of 8.5:1 and an average class size of 17 students, the College's curricular and research programs incorporate active learning and collaborative work between students and faculty and a strong, growing commitment to undergraduate research.

Grinnell College, a highly selective, residential liberal arts college of approximately 1,500 students. Grinnell is an NCAA Division III member institution and participates in the Midwest Conference (MWC). The College has recently finished the first phase of a new $20 million athletic facility and is planning construction of remaining phases (primarily a field house and natatorium) in the next few years. About 30% of each graduating class has participated in varsity sports at the College. Grinnell’s athletes are the pre-eminent scholar-athletes in the MWC, with more than 200 being named last year as academic all-conference. In recent years, the College has also regularly finished at or near the top of the MWC all sports trophy competition in both men’s and women’s athletics.
