- Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Description
Responsible for the strength and conditioning of sports assigned by the Director of Performance and Sport Science at the University of Oregon. Develop and implement individualized conditioning, strength, speed, and flexibility programs for student-athletes. Demonstrate a commitment to the continual advancement of training methods and professional development within the field. Promote the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.
Special Requirement
This position will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain UO Driver's Certification.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science, physical education or related field, specializing in physical preparation of elite athletes.
Current National Strength and Conditioning Association certification (CSCS) or SCCC.
Proven experience in strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of strength and conditioning to high-performance athletes.
Three years of full-time experience as a strength and conditioning coach working at the collegiate or professional level.
Professional Competencies
Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in exercise science or related field.
Experience working with sports performance technology to inform strength and conditioning program design.
Experience with rotational and field-based sports within a Division I, power-4 conference.
