Description

Wellstar Health System seeks an Athletic Trainer to deliver high-quality injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation services within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this on-site role, you’ll provide sideline and clinic coverage, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to optimize patient outcomes. You will educate patients, families, and coaching staff on safe return-to-play protocols and wellness strategies. Perform evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports and orthopedic injuries
Develop and implement individualized injury prevention and conditioning programs
Provide sideline/venue coverage and acute injury management
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab team on care plans and return-to-play decisions
Document assessments and treatments in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Educate patients, families, and coaches on injury prevention and recovery
Assist with fitting and maintenance of braces, splints, and durable medical equipment
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
Maintain clinical and equipment safety standards and infection control
Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives
Injury assessment and clinical evaluation
Therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation planning
Manual therapy techniques
Taping, bracing, and splinting
Emergency and sideline care of acute injuries
Knowledge of return-to-play guidelines
Anatomy and kinesiology proficiency
Use of therapeutic modalities (e-stim, ultrasound, etc.)
EMR documentation and clinical record-keeping
Patient and coach education and communication

Current Georgia Athletic Trainer license (or eligibility)
