Description
Experienced Physiotherapist – Musculoskeletal / Clinical Pilates / Pelvic Health
Part-time with the opportunity to build towards a full-time role
Cottesloe Sports Physiotherapy is looking for an experienced physiotherapist to join our team in Cottesloe.
We are looking primarily for an excellent musculoskeletal physiotherapist with strong clinical reasoning, hands-on assessment and treatment skills, and a sound understanding of exercise rehabilitation and progressive loading.
Ideally, we would also love to find someone with experience in Clinical Pilates and/or pelvic health physiotherapy. We recognise that finding all of these skills in one person may be difficult, so we are very happy to hear from experienced physiotherapists who have strong musculoskeletal skills together with expertise or a particular interest in either of these areas.
The position would initially be part-time, with the opportunity to progressively build towards a full-time caseload for the right person.
About Cottesloe Sports Physiotherapy
We are a well-established and busy private practice in Perth's western suburbs, treating a broad mix of local community members through to recreational, state, national and international-level athletes.
Our clinic includes four treatment rooms and a fully equipped Clinical Pilates and strength & conditioning studio, allowing us to take patients from initial assessment and treatment right through to comprehensive rehabilitation, strength development and return to sport.
You will work alongside an experienced team with a strong emphasis on clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, exercise rehabilitation and collaborative patient management.
Practice Principal Brett Slocombe has extensive elite-sport experience, including three Olympic Games as a physiotherapist and ongoing work with Australian Swimming. There is plenty of opportunity within the clinic for case discussion, mentoring and collaboration around complex presentations and return-to-sport rehabilitation.
We have regular in-services and provide all physiotherapists with an allowance for continuing professional development.
The role
Depending on your experience and areas of interest, your role may include:
Assessment and treatment of a broad range of musculoskeletal and sporting presentations
Post-operative and return-to-sport rehabilitation
Individual exercise rehabilitation and strength programming
Clinical Pilates / exercise rehabilitation classes and 1:1 sessions
Pelvic health physiotherapy, if this is within your scope and area of expertise
Working collaboratively with our physiotherapists and other health professionals on more complex presentations
About you
We are looking for someone who is already a confident clinician and enjoys working in a busy private-practice environment.
You will ideally have several years of private-practice experience, excellent musculoskeletal assessment and clinical reasoning skills, and the ability to develop strong relationships with patients and build and maintain a caseload.
You should have a good understanding of exercise prescription, rehabilitation progression and appropriate loading based on pathology, stage of healing and current evidence.
A postgraduate Master’s degree in Sports Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Pelvic Health Physiotherapy or a related clinical field would be highly regarded, although it is not essential.
Experience in Clinical Pilates and/or pelvic health would also be highly regarded but is not essential. If you are particularly strong in one of these areas but not the other, we would still very much like to hear from you.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys being part of a collaborative team, takes pride in the quality of their clinical work and is interested in developing a long-term role within the practice.
