EXPERIENCED SPORTS /MUSCULOSKELETAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Double Bay, Sydney | Plus Head Physio Role with Sydney University AFL
Immediate Start | Full Time (with genuine potential for Full Time)
Sports Lab is seeking an experienced Sports or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our well-established team, based at our Double Bay clinic with the flexibility to work across our other Sydney locations.
This role offers a genuinely varied caseload, a supportive and experienced team, and structured mentoring – with the added drawcard of taking over as Head Physiotherapist for Sydney University AFL for the remainder of the current season.
Your Role at Sports Lab
- A genuinely varied clinical caseload spanning musculoskeletal, sports and post-operative rehabilitation.
- Based at our Double Bay clinic, with the opportunity to work across our other Sydney clinics (inner west and eastern suburbs) as needed.
- Support from a close-knit team of experienced Sports, Musculoskeletal and Exercise Physiotherapists.
- Structured mentoring available – whether you are looking to develop your own skills or want to mentor junior team members.
- A well-established, highly-regarded practice with a strong reputation across Sydney's eastern suburbs and inner west.
- Real potential for the role to grow from part time into full time as your caseload develops.
- Plus: Head Physio, Sydney University AFL
As part of this role, you will take over as Head Physiotherapist for Sydney University AFL for the remainder of the current season – a great opportunity to add high-level sports coverage experience to your clinical caseload.
- Work closely with the coaching team, providing pitch-side coverage, injury assessment, and return-to-play management.
- Oversee junior physiotherapists and trainers supporting the program.
- Build your sports profile and network within semi-elite Australian Rules Football
About You
- A Senior Physiotherapist with experience in sports and/or musculoskeletal physiotherapy, ideally within private practice.
- Confident working pitch-side and making real-time clinical decisions in a team sport environment.
- An excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with patients, athletes, coaching staff and referring practitioners.
- A team player who is willing to contribute to a positive clinic culture and, where appropriate, mentor junior staff.
- Available to work Saturdays as part of your regular clinical schedule.
- Open to travelling between Double Bay and our other Sydney clinics as required.
Remuneration
Remuneration is structured as a base salary (in line with the Health Professionals and Support Services Award) plus performance-based commission, reviewed at six months and annually thereafter. A CPD allowance and standard employment benefits are included in the package.

Requirements
Essential Requirements
Minimum Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
Full, current AHPRA registration.
Current CPR certification.
Current professional indemnity insurance.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between clinic sites.
Availability to work Saturdays.
Highly Regarded (Not Essential)
3+ years' physiotherapy experience and/or a relevant postgraduate qualification, particularly in sports physiotherapy.
Prior experience in a team sport or sideline coverage role.
Excellent manual therapy skills.
Formal Pilates or clinical exercise training.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff.
