Description
Encompass Health seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant to support licensed OTs in delivering high-quality, evidence-based rehab care. In our inpatient rehabilitation setting, you’ll assist with therapeutic interventions, carry out individualized treatment plans, document patient progress, and educate patients and families to promote independence. You’ll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a nurturing, dynamic environment focused on excellent outcomes and patient dignity. This role offers meaningful patient interaction, structured onboarding, and clear career-growth pathways within a leading post-acute care network.Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Assist patients with therapeutic activities to improve functional independence and safety
Document treatments, patient responses, and progress according to regulatory and facility standards
Educate patients and families on exercises, adaptive techniques, and home programs
Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain clean, organized treatment areas
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning
Monitor patient status and promptly report changes to supervising OT or nursing staff
Support discharge planning by reinforcing functional training and patient goals
Comply with all regulatory, safety, and infection control policies
Participate in continuing education and performance improvement activities
Therapeutic exercise implementation
ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training
Functional mobility and transfer techniques
Use of adaptive and assistive equipment
Clinical documentation and EMR use
Patient and family education
Safety and infection control practices
Interdisciplinary team collaboration
Basic anatomy and kinesiology knowledge
Rehab outcome measurement and monitoring

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program
