Description
Encompass Health seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant to deliver hands-on rehabilitative care in our inpatient rehabilitation setting. Working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, you will implement treatment plans, guide therapeutic activities, and support patients in regaining independence in daily living tasks. You will accurately document progress, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and help maintain a safe, encouraging care environment that reflects our commitment to high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation and long-term career growth.Implement OT treatment plans under supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Monitor, document, and report patient progress and response to treatment
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety techniques
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians in an interdisciplinary team
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the medical record
Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas for safety and cleanliness
Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and infection-control standards
Participate in care conferences and contribute to discharge planning
Support a patient-centered, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care environment
Therapeutic exercise and activity implementation
Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADL) training
Functional mobility and transfer training
Use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Patient assessment and observation skills
Clinical documentation and EMR proficiency
Basic anatomy, kinesiology, and rehabilitation principles
Patient and family education techniques
Infection control and safety procedures
Interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
