Description
Encompass Health seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant to support Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation care. In our inpatient rehab setting, you will implement treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic activities, document progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to help patients regain independence. Our nurturing, dynamic environment offers strong clinical support, continuing education, and clear paths for career growth while keeping patient-centered outcomes at the heart of every decision.Implement OT treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve functional mobility and daily living skills
Monitor, document, and report patient progress and response to treatment
Educate patients and families on exercises, adaptive equipment, and home safety
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab team members on care plans
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Assist with discharge planning by providing functional status updates
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in EMR systems
Support a patient-centered, compassionate care environment
Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and ongoing clinical education
Therapeutic exercise implementation
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training
Functional mobility and transfer techniques
Use and fitting of adaptive equipment
Inpatient rehabilitation procedures
Patient and family education
Clinical documentation and EMR use
Basic kinesiology and anatomy knowledge
Infection control and safety practices
Interdisciplinary team collaboration
