Encompass Health, a national leader in post-acute care, seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries. In this on-site role, you’ll deliver hands-on therapy under the direction of a Physical Therapist, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities. Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and functional mobility activities
Monitor, document, and report patient progress, responses, and safety concerns
Educate patients and families on exercises, equipment use, and home programs
Prepare and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for therapy sessions
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to coordinate patient care
Support safe patient handling, transfers, and use of assistive devices
Adhere to clinical protocols, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements
Promote a patient-centered, compassionate care environment
Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives
Therapeutic exercise implementation
Gait training and mobility assistance
Patient transfer and safe handling techniques
Rehabilitation documentation and EMR use
