Part-time independent contractor opportunity for an assigned state and sport, with flexible remote and local work.

This posting covers volleyball assignments in four markets: Florida, California, Texas, and North Carolina (and new states being added shortly, so please apply!). Each assignment is for one state. Candidates should apply for the state where they have real local relationships. This is not a remote role open to candidates anywhere in the United States.

The All State Game

As a State Director of Talent, you will help open that door: finding athletes who may otherwise be overlooked, building relationships that strengthen youth sports, and turning a nomination into an experience that can build confidence, connection, and momentum well beyond game day.

The Opportunity

EXACT Sports is seeking a trusted, reliable youth-sports leader to serve as a part-time State Director of Talent for the All State Game in your state for volleyball.

This person will help build a credible statewide network of coaches and Talent Scouts, identify deserving athletes, strengthen Watchlist and nomination coverage, and complete assigned athlete-family engagement that improves the path from nomination to participation.

This is a working leadership role, not an honorary title. The right candidate follows through, communicates consistently, uses simple systems well, and can turn relationships into action across an entire season. Although this is a flexible independent contractor role, candidates should expect to devote approximately 10–15 hours per week to supporting coaches, youth athletes, and families.

What You Will Do

• Network: Build and maintain a statewide network of coaches, Talent Scouts, leagues, clubs, schools, facilities, and community leaders.
• Relationships: Recruit and activate Talent Scouts, help new scouts complete their first qualified nominations, and re-engage strong past contributors.
• Talent coverage: Identify geographic, grade, position, and relationship gaps; create a plan to close them; and report risks early.
• Communication: Use approved phone, text, email, social, and community outreach to generate qualified nominations and support selected families when assigned.
• Family engagement: Complete assigned conversion work by contacting athlete families directly or helping Talent Scouts follow up with the athletes they nominated.
• Event success: Support game-day readiness and strengthen the All State Game's local credibility.
• Accountability: Maintain accurate records, document next actions, complete assigned work on time, and escalate obstacles before they become missed commitments.

What Success Looks Like

• Reliable completion of the approved monthly checklist, with clear evidence submitted by the deadline.
• A growing number of active Talent Scouts and first-time contributing scouts.
• Consistent qualified nominations from across the state, not only one city, school, league, or personal network.
• Visible progress against priority geographic and positional gaps.
• Professional follow-up, accurate records, and fast escalation when something is blocked.
• Assigned family and Talent Scout follow-up completed on time.
• A stronger nomination-to-registration path and a credible statewide event experience.

The Person We Are Looking For

• Has meaningful relationships in the state's youth or high school sports community and can explain how the local ecosystem actually works.
• Earns trust with coaches, families, and organizational leaders without overselling or promising outcomes outside their authority.
• Is persistent, organized, and comfortable making calls, sending follow-ups, asking for referrals, and documenting next steps.
• Can influence a broad network rather than relying only on personal status, one school, one league, or a social-media following.
• Responds on time, keeps commitments, accepts coaching, and is comfortable being measured against a scorecard.
• Can attend virtual check-ins and may be available for separately assigned local event leadership.

Selection Process

Candidates complete a short application, a practical state-network exercise, a structured interview, and a live communication role play. Finalists will provide references and participate in a 90-day proving period.

Current EXACT Talent Scouts and coaches are welcome to apply. Prior involvement does not replace the selection process. Applicants will also be asked to demonstrate Talent Scout capabilities and complete the applicable All State Game Talent Scout certification process.
